Privacy Policy

The Institute for Christian Anthropology (“Company” or “we”) is committed to protecting your privacy through our compliance with this Policy. This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our websites and mobile apps, and informs you how we collect, use, maintain, protect, and share that information. This Policy applies only to information collected on instituteforchristiananthropology.org, identityproject.tv, and any future site developed (the “Sites”). It does not apply to information collected offline. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices on any website not operated by the Company to which our Sites link or that links to our Sites.

Information The Company Collects And Receives

The Company collects and retains information about you and your device when you visit our website or apps, or when you give us information through the Sites or apps. We use this information to better serve the needs of the Company and the Company’s digital assets.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

When your computer or mobile device connects to the Sites and apps, our systems collect and monitor user information and behavior on how the Sites are utilized, such as the frequency and length of your visit and browser type. As with most sites, we automatically recognize and log the Internet URL from which you access the Sites. We may also log your internet protocol address or “IP address” (which may indicate the general location of your computer on the internet), internet service provider, and date/time stamp. Log files are used primarily for system administration and troubleshooting purposes.

We may use data collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking). This information helps us to improve our Sites and deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to: (i) remember your preferences and registration information; (ii) measure and research the effectiveness of our services and communications; (iii) customize the content to fit your geographical preferences; and (iv) recognize you when you return to our Sites.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection include cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Sites. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Sites.

Personally Identifiable Information

We collect personal information from you, such as your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address from a variety of sources, including what you voluntarily provide to us (“Personal Information”). Once we have this information, any previous anonymous profile associated with your IP address is updated with your Personal Information, including email address, and your email becomes the primary identifier for your profile. Occasionally, we conduct user surveys to better target the content we provide. These surveys require the user to sign up and opt in to be able to take part.

How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any Personal Information:

To present the Sites and their contents to you.

To improve your visitor experience with the Sites, including provision of services and content tailored especially for you or your geographic area.

To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.

We also may use your Personal Information to contact you about articles, newsletters, marketing or promotional materials for events, and other information that may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please check the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data, such as the order form or registration form. Additionally, you may opt out of any, or all, of these communications by following the unsubscribe link on any email we send.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users without restriction. We may disclose Personal Information that we collect or you provide as described in this Policy:

To third-party service providers in order to facilitate our delivery of the Sites, the content of the Sites, and services available on or through the Sites, and to assist us in analyzing how the Sites are used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf, and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose.

To third parties with whom we have a business relationship, for advertising and marketing purposes.

To a successor in the event of a merger, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Organization’s assets.

When necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

State privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information. The Organization may or may not be regulated under these laws. Security

The Organization employs security measures to safeguard online transactions, and Personal Information is stored in a secure database and sent via an encrypted channel. Our third party services and vendors utilize additional measures to safeguard personal information that we use on their platforms.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of the Personal Information we have collected from you.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

The date this Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. This Policy will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. If we make any material changes to this Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on one or more of the Sites.

We reserve the right to update or change this Policy at any time, and you should check this Policy periodically.
